Pilgrim Wood is a vibrant school offering Full Day Kindergarten, Grade 1 to 8 English, Grade 1 to 6 French Immersion and Grade 1-5 Gifted. A focus for our students is building their developmental assets through curricular and extra-curricular activities. We believe organizations such as our Free the Children Club (Me to We), Student Parliament, Athletic Council (PAC) and Garden Club present our students with opportunities to develop leadership, a sense of social justice and strong friendships. Other Extra-curricular opportunities that also support student character development and engagement include primary and senior choirs, band, ukulele club, intramural sports for all ages (run by our PAC), primary building club, Forest of Reading club, running club and intraschool sports such as volleyball, basketball, cross country and track and field.
Glen Abbey is a large neighbourhood located in northwest Oakville, and is known for being home to the famous Glen Abbey Golf Club. Glen Abbey was a planned community, developed in the 1980s-1990s. This neighbourhood features many green spaces, park lands, and trails, and Fourteen Mile Creek runs through the southwest region. There are also pockets of commercial and shopping areas. Most homes are single-detached, 2-storeys, and there are larger homes on ravine lots, as well as pockets of townhomes and condo highrises.
