About Fairglen Junior Public School

Fairglen Junior Public School is a neighbourhood school which was first opened in 1966 and at that time received an award for its practical design. The school serves about 220 students from an economically and socially diverse, multicultural community. Located next door to a high school and a senior public school, students at Fairglen experience a unique educational setting as their entire educational career can occur in one neighbourhood. In September 2011, Fairglen welcomed a Grade 4 Gifted program and at present have 5, grade 4 to 6 Gifted classes. In order to enhance the educational experience of our students, we offer school excursions and provide in-school activities to enhance and enrich programs.

Fairglen Junior Public School is located in L'Amoreaux

L'Amoreaux is named after Josue L'Amoreaux (1738–1834), a French Huguenot loyalist who settled there. The area is a suburban residential neighbourhood predominantly of single-family detached homes and townhomes, dating from the late 1950s, as well as some mid to high-rise apartment buildings and condominiums. The area contains many tree-lined streets, huge sidewalks, and winding roads. The eastern edge of the neighbourhood is known as Clarks Corners.
