High Park Gardens Montessori School, like the first Casa dei Bambini which was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1907 in Rome, is not just a classroom or a school, but a community. The High Park neighbourhood is mainly residential, containing many semi-detached homes built in the early 20th century. North of the park, the neighbourhood has several high-rise apartment buildings, built after the construction of the Bloor-Danforth subway.
