Our motto is "Growing in Spirit"! Eatonville Junior School was originally situated on the northeast corner of Bloor Street and The West Mall in 1870 on land donated by the Timothy Eaton family and was first known as the "Swamp School" due to the many surrounding frog ponds. The current school was built in 1955 on Rossburn Drive to accommodate more children. Character Education
At Eatonville, student accomplishments are celebrated. At monthly student led High Five Assemblies, we recognize students who are demonstrating the TDSB character attributes: Respect, Responsibility, Empathy, Kindness and Caring, Teamwork, Fairness, Honesty, Co-operation, Integrity and Perseverance. Pro-social skills are fostered by: Second Steps social skills program in all grades, P.A.L.S, learning buddies, Best Buddies and anti-bullying presentations.

Our Focus
Literacy and numeracy are the key components of our academic focus. We continue to improve and integrate technology in all areas of the curriculum. In 2014, the school library was renovated and the collection updated to create a learning commons for the 21st century learner!
Engaged School Council
Eatonville has a vibrant School Council that actively supports student learning and community outreach. The Council organizes the Dance-a-thon fundraiser and Movie Nights that support extra programming for students like Scientist in School, field trips and items for the classrooms.
Extra-curricular Activities
Eatonville offers a variety of extra-curricular activities for students generally held over the lunch hour. There are opportunities for students to participate in Games Club, Reading Club, Dance Club, Yoga Club, Choir and Eco-Eagles. Students are encouraged to participate in sports such as soccer, floor hockey and track and field at different times of the year.
Mental Health and Well-Being
At Eatonville we promote Mental Health and Well Being by recognizing and reducing student anxiety, continuing to provide a school wide nutrition program and encouraging physical activity by participating in the TDSB Fit for Life program.

What Sets Us Apart
The students at Eatonville make the difference! Periodic celebrations of cultural events provide a wonderful sense of community: our family Pizza Party in September that we partner with Terry Tan Child Care and our Parenting and Family Literacy Centre; our Pumpkin Carving Night where families share the pumpkin carving tradition. Students and staff actively participate in our monthly themed Spirit Days. The wonderful support of our School Council helps students experience school presentations, school excursions, a variety of festivities and support for our library. Our EcoEagles are active this year helping us all with the green waste initiative. Eatonville - the place to be!!!!!!
Parent and Community Engagement
Eatonville partners with Terry Tan Child Centre and the Parenting and Family Literacy Centre. Both organizations join us in a variety of activities. We make extensive use of many of our community resources and agencies such as Toronto Police Services, Toronto Public Health, Toronto Foundation for Student Success, Toronto Public Library (Eatonville branch and Bookmobile Service). We run an annual food drive to support TDSB schools and Daily Bread Food Bank and a Mitten Tree to collect hats, scarves and mittens for TDSB Social Work Department. Eatonville is very fortunate to have an active and supportive School Council. Regular parent volunteers assist throughout the school and on field trips.
