River Oaks is a large neighbourhood in north central Oakville, north of College Park. It is a newer neighbourhood, developed in the 1990s and early 2000s, with some ongoing development. Housing is mixed, with single detached homes, semi-detached homes, low-rise and high-rise apartments and condos, and townhomes. Some of the developments are denser, and on narrower lots than in other Oakville neighbourhoods. A commercial area sits in the northwest corner. Sixteen Mile Creek forms the western boundary, and there are a number of green, wooded spaces and trails.
